The winter is the season to be in Bariloche. Ski addicts then flock to Cerro Catedral, one of the most important ski resorts in South America, to show off their ski and snowboard tricks.
Austrian and German immigrants were the first settlers in the area in 1895 and on May 3, 1902, San Carlos de Bariloche was officially founded. It's not hard to understand why the city has the look and feel of an alpine town.
